The Mustard Strikes Back
Wednesday, 6 October 2004
A New Vocation
I have come to the conclusion that there is a purpose for me afterall, a mission for which a select few have been chosen to fulfill. I have fought the good fight, I have come to the end of my journey, I have kept the faith, and now I am to be rewarded, for my efforts and my transgressions.

The world needs people like me who have been beaten senseless by fate. People look at me and see someone they do not want to be and they feel better about themselves. This is my curse, my purpose, my reward for the life I have lived. For those that have loved and lost, for those that seek answers and find only more questions, I will provide an invaluable service to society.

Schadenfreude, making the world a better place to be!

Now accepting applications...

I'm glad that you have found your purpose. I guess it depends on your perspective - is the glass half full or half empty???

I actually prefer "buffeted gently" as opposed to "beaten senseless" by fate, but I have tried to maintain a psuedo-optimistic point of view.
BTW,
You have gotten EXTREMELY good at pontificating on that which is your own existence. You almost make me feel like a crass fool. Keep up the good work!

Well I'm glad its only "almost" and not totally...like I said, the world needs people like us, and in that, we are the same, and I like it that way.

Besides, ghost spooge was hilarious...

Thanks for using the word schadenfreude. It's one of my favorites, and there is no English term that conveys the same meaning. Way to go!

I thank you for being you, too.

Love, Eva

I'd go for the half-full option if I was you. Keep positive, for I need optimistic people to support my blog. You're one of a disappearing minority.

Well if it were beer and it were sitting in front of me it would be completely empty and I would be wanting another one.

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! You made my day. That is the funniest thing you have ever written. And I mean that as a compliment, because often I have felt the same way, but have been unable to express the same sentiments. Bravo!

You know, I remember when you were ranting about the lettuce, and no one was reading you but yours truly and a few other dedicated fans. Truly, you have come into your own with a fanbase of steadfast readers who know and love you. Rock ON, man...
I suddenly feel the urge to go out and find more people to comment on my site...I've NEVER have 13 posts! SOOOO jealous!

Hehe, like I said good buddy, people like us provide an invaluable service to normality.

Reminds me of the Dan Akroyd and Tom Hanks movie Dragnet...

P.A.G.A.N.

People Against Goodness And Normalcy....now all we need to do is sacrifice a virgin and we are in...any takers???

Nicole, I'm glad you can relate. It's people like you that make it much easier for me to see things in a more positive light and I thank you for that.

As I said on your mindsay blog, I just can't partake of a cupcake in this pity party, kiddo. Consider yourself hugged, but you took a road less traveled, and you knew that would mean facing certain hardships. The irony underlying this post was not lost on me, but your ass could use a friendly kick in the right direction. Consider such administered.

The playa police done come and revoked my membership, hehe. Yeah so maybe I was reaching, and you could say I've done it to myself and nobody MADE me do the things I did, and it's all a choice I made in one way shape or form. You will not get any argument from me, hell, I doubt I'd be able to put up much of one at all even if I wanted to, which I don't.

The road less traveled does have a certain appeal to it though doesn't it? I suppose I was not prepared for where it would take me, but yes, I did take the first step, and the second, and I never looked back, not until I was a long way from anything I recognized.

I appreciate the 'healthy' dose of reality, in whatever form you choose to give it. Nobody ever said I did not have much to learn...grasshopper...
